Heartwood’s third annual fundraising concert is taking place on March 13th at the West End Cultural Centre!
Heartwood at the WECC is an opportunity to bring our community together, enjoy entertainment from local musicians and raise funds for the therapeutic services we provide. This event will have a silent auction, 50/50, merchandise sales, and bar. The venue has an ATM machine, and we will have square readers for accepting payments for merchandise and donations.
This year we are celebrating 40 years of making a difference.
The event will feature FONTINE, an indie-folk/pop artist, from Winnipeg, MB, that is making waves. A queer and Indigenous musician of Nehiyaw heritage, her debut EP, co-produced with friends Kris Ulrich and mixed by Boy Golden, dropped in February this year. Inspired by the prairies and the Winnipeg music scene, her music is a fusion of culture and creativity. FONTINE’s single “Homemaker” reached number one on the Indigenous Music Countdown, and she recently graced CBC’s “The Intro” stage. With roots in her heritage and her home, FONTINE’s music is a captivating journey.
Cassidy Mann will be opening and Issa Kixen will be our entertaining MC for the evening.
Heartwood at the WECC is one of a few major fundraising opportunities for Heartwood Healing Centre each year, helping to provide more short-term counselling, workshops, and groups to Manitobans who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.
