Join us for Heartwood Healing Centre’s first-ever annual education and awareness conference to recognize World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence, as declared by the United Nations.
Heartwood Healing Centre facilitates the healing journey of people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and increases society’s understanding of this form of trauma. We do this by providing therapeutic services, strengthening support systems, exchanging knowledge, and raising awareness.
This conference is for service providers, therapists, non-profit direct support workers, and students (social work, psychology, human rights).
Morning: Introductory workshop on Responding to Disclosures of Childhood Sexual Abuse
Afternoon: Attendees will have the opportunity to select workshops highlighting the unique benefits of different healing models (medicine pouch making, arts-based therapy, dog therapy, etc.)
When: November 18 2024 – 9AM – 4PM
Where: Canadian Museum for Human Rights
*Lunch and museum access provided
We hope to see you there!
